What is Sacred Today?
A spiritual practice helping people discern God’s presence in their daily lives and practice accompanying others seeking the same.
The Beginning
“Two years ago I took a photograph of a stone arch at a monastery in Catalonia whose name means God's Stairway. I did not know it would become the logo of something that did not yet exist.” - Dr. Eric Boyd, Founder
Sacred Today emerged from a growing conviction that God is not waiting for us at the end of the pilgrimage. God is already present and active in the ordinary moments we walk through each day.
Through contemplative practices of noticing and responding, we learn to experience ordinary moments as sacred and everyday life as pilgrimage.
Over time, the practice of discernment extends beyond personal awareness. We also learn to accompany others by listening deeply, sharing honestly, and helping one another recognize the sacred hidden within ordinary experience.
What Makes Sacred Today Different?
.ROOTED IN CONTEMPLATION
We cultivate awareness of God’s presence through prayer, stilness, and reflection
FORMED BY DISCERNMENT
Shaped by the Camino and the journey of faith and formaton we all share.
EVERYDAY VIEWED AS A PILGRIMAGE
We approach daily life as a journey of attentiveness to God’s presence and invitation.
GROUNDED IN ACCOMPANIMENT
Shaped by our own discernment, we learn to accompany others on their formation journey.

Meet the Founder
Dr. Boyd is a professor, leadership coach, and nonprofit leader with a deep commitment to discerning God in his own life and helping people grow in awareness of God’s presence in their lives.
With experience in higher education, leadership development, and leadership coaching he created Sacred Today as a contemplative discernment and formation practice rooted in the conviction that God is already present and active in the ordinary moments of our daily lives.
Sacred Today emerged from his own formation through contemplative prayer, formal study in spiritual direction and and his own work as a pilgrim slowly working toward learning to see the sacred in our daily lives.
“My deepest hope is that that this practice becomes a gentle way back to the God that is already here in you, for you and with you.” Dr. Eric Boyd, Sacred Today Founder
